The Department of Electronics & Instrumentation
established in the year 1997, has now grown at full fledge pace
with all essential and well sophisticated instruments required
for laboratory .The post graduate course in control and instrumentation
was started in the year 2004.
Goals of our Dept. are to produce brilliant intellectuals matching
to the needs of modern industry and other professional pursuits
including entry into P.G studies, both within and outside our
country and to produce University gold medalists and Rank holders.

OBJECTIVE
(i) KNOWLEDGE: To cater specifically the Electronics and Instrumentation
Engineers to get a thorough knowledge of all type of measuring
instruments and their measuring techniques. To get a clear insight
in working of industrial instruments and their measuring techniques.
(ii) SKILLS: To equip them in advanced field of measurement
and instrument technology and to provide detailed treatment
of transducers, behaviour and calibration of instruments.
(iii) INTERPRETATION: By covering the background material, renowned
lectures, seminars and detailed treatment of practical experiments,
the students are well exposed to the subjects.

have a well equipped library.
· Separate 100 books
are there in reference section for staff preparation

5 -6 books are issued in the department library for every student
· Project reports of final year students are kept
for reference.
· Every year new editions of the book are added to the
library

o Produced 100% result in (2004-05).
o Anna University 10th Rank was achieved by Ms.S.Suba (2004-2005).
She has been placed in CTS
o Anna University 30th Rank was achieved by Ms.R.Banu priya
(2005-2006). She has been placed in infosys.
o Javid Aslam has been placed in Infosys in the year 2006.
o Santhosh kumar has been placed in CTS Chennai in the year
2006
o Sreekumar has been placed in Microsoft
o Jibijohn has got gold medal from PeriyarUnivesity. He has
been placed in Microsoft
o Periyar University 3rd Rank was achieved by Ms.S.Sudha.
o Periyar University 4th Rank was achieved by Ms.R.Sudha. |
Process Control Lab: This is a unique laboratory
which provides the elaborate knowledge about control of different
process plants like Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level (Interacting
& Non Interacting), Control Valve Trainer, I/P, P/I Trainer,
PLC, etc.
Computer Control Lab: Advanced software like
Simplicity SCADA software, MATLAB Version 6.0, and PC based
Level, Flow, Temperature, Pressure control loops and PID controller
software are utilized in this laboratory.
Microprocessors Lab: This laboratory imparts the knowledge about
different Microprocessors and Microcontrollers. It is well established
with 8085µP, 8086µP Trainer, 8051µC and Z80
Trainers, etc. Real time control applications like Stepper Motor
Control, Analog to Digital Converter, Digital to Analog Converter
are done in this laboratory.
DESIGN PROJECT LABORATORY: This laboratory
imparts the knowledge about Design of Instrumentation amplifiers
& controllers, Design of signal conditioning circuits for
all industrial applications.
INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY: This
is a unique laboratory which provides the elaborate knowledge
about control of different process plants like Calibration of
Thermocouple, RTDs etc., Vibration pickup, Flow measurement.
Viscosity, pH, Conductivity Measurement.
ANALOG AND DIGITAL LABORATORY: This is a unique
laboratory which provides the elaborate knowledge about turned
Amplifiers, Differentials amplifier, Rectifier, Design Counters,
Verification of logic gates.
CIRCUIT AND DEVICES LAB: This is a unique laboratory
which provides the elaborate knowledge about Current commutated
chopper, AC voltage controller, Three Phase AC voltage regulator
Using SCR, Phase control using TRIAC, Parallel Inverter.
TRANSDUCER LABORATORY: This is a unique laboratory
which provides the elaborate knowledge about Characteristics
of Sensors and Transducers, Matlab Simulation, Mathematical
modeling.
ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS MEASUREMENT LAB:
This is a unique laboratory which provides the elaborate knowledge
about Calibration of electrical instruments, Measurement of
various electrical parameters.
