“Waste to Wealth Expo 2020”, on 24 Jan 2020

Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College organised a project cum exhibition “Waste to Wealth Expo 2020” to showcase the innovative ideas \ models\ projects related to Waste Management on 24th January, 2020 in A\C Auditorium. Students from various colleges took part in this expo and presented their models. The event was presided over by Prof. A. Nagappan, principal, Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College and the gathering was welcomed by Dr. S. Anusuya, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering. The Cheif Guest, Mr. M. Elango, Block Health Supervisor, Department of Public Health& Preventive Medicine, Government of Tamil Nadu, delivered a motivational speech on Waste Management to the young aspirants. He emphasized the importance of minimizing the production of waste and its reuse. 170 students showcased around 70 models where they converted them as solid, liquid, industrial and household wastes into useful products such as organic manure, electricity, biogas, fuels, etc...These models were evaluated by juries and the best three models were awarded with prizes. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by Ms. S. Megala, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Engineering, Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College, Salem.
