One Day Skill Development Program – Hands on Training “Two Wheeler Servicing”, on 21 Aug 2019

A one day skill development program – Hands on training in “Two Wheeler Servicing” was conducted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 21.08.2019 in the Automobile Engineering Lab. The skill development program was inaugurated by our Honourable Principal Dr.A.NAGAPPAN, at 10.00 AM by lighting of the Lamp in the Automobile Engineering Lab where the HOD Mech Prof.N.Rajan and faculty members were present. The Principal highlighted the necessity to train the students in various skill development programes to improve their employability skills and also to become an entrepreneur. The resource persons Mr. T.Raja, Mr. R.Chandrasekar, and Mr. R.Prabhakar of Mechanical department have trained 100 students from AVS Engineering college, Sakthi Kailash Arts & Science College for Woman, Mahendra Institute of Technology, Rajaji Institiute of Technology along with our Automobile students.

All the students have been grouped into 4 batches and they were initially given demonstration on servicing of two wheelers like changing of engine oil, brake & chain adjustments, cleaning of carburettor & spark plug and other related works. Then after demonstration the students have carried out the service of the two wheelers individually and got hands on experience under the guidance of the resource persons.

During the valedictory function our Honourable Principal Dr.A.NAGAPPAN elaborated the opportunities in the Automobile servicing sector and highlighted the necessity of the skill development and principal distributed the certificates to all the participants. The arrangements for the programme were organized by the HOD Mechanical and his team members.
