05 Associate NCC Officers and 200 Senior Division Cadets Coimbatore, Trichy and Puducherry groups of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry & Andaman Nickopar Directorate was attached to 47 INFANTRY BRIGADE with 1 Bihar (Infantry Regment), 4 JAK LI (Jammu And Kashmir Light Infantry), 5 Sikh (Infantry Regiment of recruits from the Sikh Community) Mehdipatnam Garrison, Secundrabad from 31 Dec 2019 to 14 Jan 2020.
10 Senior Division cadets and 01 Associate NCC Officers from Vinayaka Mission’s Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College, Salem participated in the camp. Coimbatore group were attached to 1 BIHAR under the officer commanding COL. Vivek Kumar. His inspiring words
The camp was mainly based on the daily activities of the infantry regiment which is famous for fire power and weapon training. The Physical Training exercise included a daily 5KM run with 5KG load and wooden log. The theory classes were on 5.56mm INSAS Rifle, 5.56 Light Machine Gun, 30mm Anti-Tank Grenade Launcher, 7.62mm Medium Machine Gun, Hand Grenade 36, Non Metallic Mine, Mines, Global Positioning System, 84mm Rocket Launcher, Grenade Machine Gun 9mm.
The classes were not only limited to Infantry Weapons but also included the organisation of infantry regiment. The Personality Development and Social Responsibility were given importance and the classes were taken on First aid and Safety, Personal Hygiene, Cleanliness and Line Area.
Apart from above mentioned activities the cadets were provided with theoretical and practical sessions for preparation of ‘B’ and ‘C’ Certificate examinations on Leadership qualities, Man Power Management, Tent pitching, Kholna Jholna (Dismantle and Reassembling), Camp Security, Cyber Safety and Security, Field craft, Battle craft and Map Reading.
A glance was provided on the Regiment compressing of Ghatak Commandoes, their selection process, the tests they undergo, the weapons they handle, their organisation, special usage for anti-terror activities etc.
Awareness sessions on interviews conducted by Services Selection Board (SSB) were given by officers. The sessions were meant to provide a detailed picture preparation, attitude and performance in SSB interview and carriers in armed forces. Finally a motivational session was conducted on heroic deed sot warriors who sacrificed their life for India.
The overall camp experience provided cumulative effecter the minds of cadets for social, personal and interpersonal relationship among them and the society and dealing with their counter parts with utmost respect, responsibility and importance in serving the nation directly.
During the closing ceremony 200 Senior Division Cadets and 05 Associate NCC Officers were given Certificates of Appreciation for the Army Attachment Camp and Inter Group combination Coimbatore group won two trophies in Drill and Volley ball.
