Annapoorna Central Library

The Central library has been built to International standards, spreads over to ground plus two floors with an area of 12,000 sqft. It is centrally air-conditioned. It has specialized collections of Books, Journals & other resources in Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Biotechnology, Science & Humanities and Management. The collection includes books, back volumes, CDs\ DVDs. The Central Library subscribes to national and international journals in print and e-Journals.

Vision: The Central Library aims at an Excellent Storehouse of knowledge by providing an easy access to information resources for Technical learning and Research community. It is also committed to user focus services, fairness, and innovation, professional integrity and social responsibility.

Mission: Central library makes maximum use of dependable with Center on the needs of Educational and Research activities of our students. It maintains a close relationship with students and faculties to co-ordinate the range of academic information and other related services.

Objectives
  • Selecting, acquiring, organizing, maintaining and making accessible a collection of printed and non-printed, materials that will support the Educational, Research and public service programme of both students and the faculty.
  • Responding to the changeable needs of the academic community by involving the faculty, the students and the administration in the development and periodic consideration of the library services and resources.
  • Providing library users with point-of-use instruction, personal assistance in conducting literature research and other reference services.
  • Providing an environment conducive to the optimum use of library materials and an appropriate schedule of hours of service and professional assistance


Resources
Standard Text books and Reference books by well-known authors are stacked, and every effort is made to obtain all titles recommended by the library committee which consists of Principal, HoDs, Librarian and student’s representative. Multiple copies of popular books are bought to make them available to as many students as possible.

Library Seating Capacity: Reading hall of the library could accommodate nearly 300 students and average users 200 per day.

Library Automation: The central library has been fully automated by Autolib Software with bar-code facility of all books.



National Digital Library

Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT) has initiated the National Digital Library of India (NDL India) pilot project to develop a framework of virtual repository of learning resources with a single-window search facility. Filtered and federated searching is employed to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find out the right resource with least effort and in minimum time.

Our Institution has joined in the National Digital Library of India to assess more than 80 Lakhs digital resources.

We are in the process of digitalizing our books available in our library and sharing the same with the NDL at IIT kharagpur that would add to the digital resources. We advise our students to use these resources while they are doing their class work and assignments.

Our library is offering following value added services

Book Circulation Service: UG, PG students and Research Scholars may borrow 5 books and UG students may keep 15 days and PG students may keep one month from the date of issue. Books shall be renewed 2 times. If the book is not returned on or before the due date a fine of Rs.2.00/- per day (including holidays) will be collected.
OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) facility: WEBOPAC allows the user to browse the entire library collection and provides the search facilities by Author, Title, Subject, and Keyword etc. to know the availability of library documents and to save the time of user.
Reprographic Service: Reprographic Services is available at the rate of Rs.1/- per page.
E-Learning Centre like NPTEL and SWAYAM:  NPTEL: The main objective of NPTEL program is to enhance the quality of engineering education in the country by developing curriculum based video and web courses.

Facilities
Book Bank: Our library has Book Bank facility with a good collection of books that serves the deserving students.
Digital Library: Digital library has 30 systems with internet facility, which provides access to e-Books, e-Journals, Previous years Question Papers, Question Bank etc. The Central Library is a Wi-Fi enabled place, where the staff & students can access subscribed and freely available online resources for their academic and research activities. CCTV surveillance for added security and for automated monitoring of users. R.O. Processed drinking water facility available in the library premises.

Library Rules and Regulations Rules:

  • Identity Card is compulsory for getting access to the library
  • Silence to be maintained
  • No discussion permitted inside the library
  • e-Gate Registration should be done to become a library member prior to using the library resources
  • No personal belongings allowed inside the library
  • Textbooks, printed materials and issued books are not allowed to be taken inside the library
  • Using Mobile phones and audio instruments with or without speaker or headphone is strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  • Enter your name and Sign in the register kept at the entrance counter before entering library
  • Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at the entrance counter.
  • The librarian may recall any book from any member at any time and the member shall return the same immediately.
  • Library borrower cards are not transferable. The borrower is responsible for the books borrowed on his/her card.
  • Refreshment of any kind shall not be taken anywhere in the library premises
