At VMKVEC, we always believe in equipping our students
with the right talent and personality to face the industry requirements.
Our focus on placement centers on creating new approaches to
attract the best from the industry to our campus.
At VMKVEC, Placement time is not a mere annual ritual; it is
a time for showcasing the very best in our young engineers to
the industrial world. The Placement & Training Cell
functions with the primary aim of placing students in top-notch
companies even before they have completed their courses. The
Placement & Training cell goes all out to train the students
to meet the high industry expectations. |
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of Placement & Training cell are manifold.
They include:
Developing the student's Technical knowledge and soft
skills to meet the corporate recruitment process.
To motivate students to develop their overall personality
in terms of career planning, goal setting and reskilling which
will stand them in good stead even after getting the job.
To motivate students to go for higher studies and guiding
them to take competitive exams such as CAT, GATE, TOEFL, GRE,
GMAT AND IELTS.
Aiming to Place the maximum number of students through
campus & off-campus in the top notch companies.
To Conduct Annual Job Fair to facilitate students from all
over the country apart from our own students to get an opening
in top companies.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES
The students are trained to attain the above objectives through
a variety of programmes run by the Placement & Training
Cell such as:
1. Industry Institute Programmes - Corporate leaders from leading
industries are invited regularly to interact with students.
Very recently our institution has entered into an understanding
with the IT Majors Microsoft, CISCO and Sun Micro Systems for
setting up of their facilities in our institution campus which
will facilitate Training and onward recruitment of our students
in these IT Majors.
2. Various Training Programmes are organized to train the students
in the areas of Aptitude, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical Reasoning
and Verbal through the Reputed External Training centers and
in-house trainers.
3. Technical training programmes are being conducted by Technical
experts.
4. Language learning programmes to train students in developing
their communication skills and foreign language skills such
as German, Japanese and French using the language lab.
5. Training through Mock Interviews for students to perform
well in the professional interviews as per the expectations
of the corporate world.
6. Training Faculty for effective class room handling and microlevel
teaching. |
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME
Vital aspects of entrepreneurship are nurtured by the Institute's
EDPs, which train students in business basics, project preparation,
business opportunities, working capital management, motivation
exercises, and export opportunities.
PLACEMENTS
A number of Multinational Companies visited the campus and recruited
our students from the Final year and Pre-Final Year. In the
Year 2006 a Mega Job Fair was conducted in the campus with over
54 companies from various streams of industries including top-notch
Multinationals from the IT industry like Satyam Computer Services,
Polaris, Honeywell Technologies, HCL, Wipro etc., participating
and recruiting candidates. About 4000 candidates from throughout
the country participated in the 3 days Job Fair and about 1750
candidates received offers, which is a record of sorts. The
companies were provided with all facilities to complete their
selection processes and issue offer letters to the deserving
candidates.
The first batch of our University got placed in a number of
Multinational Companies such as L&T Infotech, IBS Technologies,
Satyam Computer Services, Titan Industries, Infosys, Essential
Software Techonologies, Data Patterns, Syntel, Citrisys Solutions,
ICICI Bank.
Honeywell Technology Solutions Laboratory has declared our institution
as the Hub to conduct recruitment examinations to recruit candidates
from the districts of Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri and Namakkal.
