Inauguration of BOSCH - VMKVEC Joint Training Centre

Vinayaka Mission‘s Research Foundation, Deemed to be University, Salem signed Memorandum of Understanding with BOCSH Limited, Bengaluru under industry academia relations and industry institution interaction cell for establishing a Skill Development Centre named as ”BOSCH - VMKVEC Joint Training Centre“ in its constituent college

Vinayaka Mission‘s Kirupananda Variyar Engineering College (VMKVEC) located in Salem for empowering the youth with necessary hands on skills for enhancing their competency and employability as per the latest demands of automobile market.

The training centre is inaugurated in VMKV Engineering College at 10.00 AM on 08 Feb 2019. Prof. P K Kumareshan, Vice-Principal, VMKVEC presented a warm welcome to Mrs. Annapoorani Shanmugasundaram, Honourable Madam Founder Chancellor, Mr. Anandakumar, Senior General Manager - Technical Service Support, BOSCH Limited, Bengaluru, Dr. P. K. Sudhir, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Mr. N Rajan, Head - Department of Mechanical Engineering, Mr. T. Raja, Programme Coordinator - Automobile Engineering, other officials of VMRFDU and BOSCH Limited and students. Honourable Madam Founder Chancellor lighted the lamp.

Vice-Principal, VMKVEC presented a brief report on usefulness of this training centre to meet the demands of industries especially automobile sector. Honourable Vice-Chancellor interacted with the students and explained about the importance of acquiring additional skills in addition to engineering knowledge for becoming an entrepreneur and start-ups. Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering explained to the gathering about the facilities available, extension and utilisation of the facilities by not only students of the college but also to external students, dropouts and even to working people of various industries. Senior General Manager - Technical Service Support, BOSCH Limited, Bengaluru gave a brief description of the opportunities and latest demands of skilled engineer in automobile sector. Through a power point presentation, he described about the facilities available in BOSCH Limited and sharing of the facilities to the students for in-house and in-plant training, developing innovative products and projects. Programme Coordinator - Automobile Engineering presented a practical demonstration of the working of the equipments to the officials and students present.

The programme concluded at 12.00 PM with vote of thanks by Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
