OBJECTIVES
The Mathematics Department at VMKV Engineering
College seeks to prepare students to the degree of having a
strong background in skills of logic, reasoning, critical thinking,
and technology in tune with the latest development.
The curriculum in Mathematics is purely application oriented
and it is designed, in general, to prepare students for employment,
for higher studies, and for productive lives which require quantitative
reasoning and computation. |

Specific objectives are
- To motivate the students towards research and to be aware
of the wide importance of mathematics and increasing need
of mathematics in every field of science and technology.
- To provide training careers in the marketable areas of
engineering and industry which require Mathematical skills.
- To generate a mode of analytical thinking that can be
extended to all areas of human thought and exploration.
RESEARCH
The Department Of Mathematics has emerged as a full
pledged research department offering M.Phil and Ph.d Program
in Mathematics and Statistics.

The Department is frequently engaged itself
in conducting various research activities which are both fundamental
and applied in nature that are necessary for advancing technical
know-how both within and outside the country.
The Department members are taking keen interest in attending
the workshops, seminars and National & International conferences
and presenting their research papers.
The Department is equipped with
1. Latest configured Computer with Printer
2. Softwares like Mat Lab, Latex, Statistical Packages, Lingo,
Mathematica, Mat CAD etc.,
3. A library with relevant books.
4. Mathematical Models.
5. Other necesssary facilities
