Achievements of V.M.K.V.E.C during 2010 -2011.
Principal Dr.A.Nagappan and Dean – Placement & Training - Dr.C.S.Ramanigopal receiving the award from Honourable Minister for Information Technology, Government of Tamilnadu Dr.Poongothai Aladi Aruna in the presence of Mr.Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice Chairman, Cognizant Technology Solutions at Chennai.
- ICT Academy of Tamilnadu Sanction two research proposals submitted by the department of BME and EEE for Funding.
- AJAY GHOSH.E.R, ADINATH.D, NISY.P.SATHEESH and JAYSHREE.S final Year Students of EEE Department developed a “Prepaid energy meter using a microcontroller and Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM)”. Government of Kerala acknowledge the project and had a high level meeting with the Electricity Minister of Kerala State on 12th February 2011. The team expressed their satisfaction and assured to support by all means in the successful implementation of the device in the state of Kerala.
- VMU – SOFTPRO rural BPO initiative was inaugurated by Thiru.Veerapandi A.Raja, M.L.A and Mr.J.Chandra Kumar IAS, district collector, and the study materials were distributed to the candidates selected for the programme.

- Project proposal entitled “A Programming Language for Genetic Engineering of Living Cells” submitted to Microsoft Research by Mr.Yousuf Sait of third year B.E. (CSSE), has been selected for “Microsoft image cup 2011”
- “Solar Power Satellite & Wireless Power Transmission” system developed by Om Prakash, a final year EEE student has been recognized by M/s. Efficient Carbon, Hyderabad, and accepted to provide technological and business support to pursue the project work.
Placement and Training
The Placement & Training cell has been working round the year for Camps Interviews. During 2010 -2011, 541 students (as on 07 March 2011) have been placed in reputed companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Hexaware Technologies, Mahindra & Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Trident Technologies, India Infoline (MBA), HCL (BSERV), Eagle Software, Zifo Technologies, Global Logic, Birla Soft, to name only a few.
